UNIVERSITY OF FLORIDA, GAINESVILLE, FL. Assistant Professor, tenure track, with possible appointment at Associate Professor level. AOS: Ethics. AOC: Open. The Department of Philosophy seeks an ethicist to teach core courses in its program at both undergraduate and graduate levels and to maintain an ongoing research program with interdisciplinary contact as appropriate. Candidates should also be prepared to teach courses in two or more of the following areas: bioethics or medical ethics, business ethics, environmental ethics, political philosophy, philosophy of law. Associate level appointment will require a demonstrated record of superior research and teaching achievement as well as the potential for academic leadership within the college and university. The department is particularly committed to increasing the diversity of its faculty and encourages applications by candidates from under-represented groups. Appointment begins August 16, 2010 (provisional if Ph.D. not awarded by this date). Salary negotiable commensurate with education and experience.
